This dram is one of my all time favourite Japanese blends and I personally find it to be almost the perfect “harmony” of flavours and experience to make it worthy of its name. The packaging and especially the bottle with its glass stopper are just beautiful and add the the whole experience of owning and drinking one.

Hibiki Japanese Harmony<\/a> is made with malt whiskies from the Yamazaki and Hakushu distilleries, as well as grain whisky from the Chita distillery. The whiskies are drawn from 5 different types of cask, including American white oak casks, Sherry casks and Mizunara oak casks. The blend itself was crafted by the Suntory Whisky blending team, led by Master Blender Shingo Torii. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The word “Hibiki” means “resonance” and certainly my experience with this dram has the sense of a resonance between the nose, palate and finish. It is fruity on the nose with berries and apples and a honey tone coming through. Once its sat in the glass a while you get a buttery caramelised flavour that grows on you and leads to a warming and oaky spice. A sweet finish that is neither too short or too long lets you savour this dram, and still quite happily go back for more!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are a number of places that sell this dram but it is available on Amazon<\/a> but watch for the price to drop as I’ve seen it as low as \u00a365 and over \u00a3150 at times!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
